Based across the broader Inner West / Western Sydney area, this is an opportunity with a broad remit across operational risk and compliance. You’ll lead an established team and work closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen risk frameworks, navigate regulatory change and ensure effective risk and compliance practices are embedded across the business.

Responsibilities

- Lead and develop the Operational Risk & Compliance function and its team.
- Provide advice to senior management on material risk, compliance and regulatory matters.
- Oversee operational risk frameworks, risk and control assessments and control effectiveness.
- Maintain oversight of key regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Lead regulatory change initiatives and support implementation across the business.
- Oversee financial crime, AML/CTF and fraud risk frameworks.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure policies, processes and business activities meet regulatory requirements.




- Manage relationships with external advisers and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement across risk, compliance and governance practices.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

- Significant experience across operational risk and/or compliance within a regulated financial services environment.
- Previous experience operating at a senior management level with responsibility for leading a team.
- Solid knowledge of operational risk frameworks, controls and risk assessment methodologies.
- Sound understanding of financial services regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Exposure to broader compliance frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to advise and influence senior leaders.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance regulatory requirements with practical business outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience holding formal regulatory or compliance responsibilities would be highly regarded.
