We are currently seeking a Construction Manager from a civil projects background to join our Project Leadership Team to assist on a pipeline of projects in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. A key focus of the position is to ensure projects are delivered to the required safety, quality, program, cost and contractual standards, while building strong project teams, developing operational leaders and embedding a proactive HSE culture across all sites and project activities. The successful candidate must will be willing to undertake weekly site visits across the Northwest, Western Australia.

Main duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Provide senior operational leadership across Austral Construction’s civil project portfolio, ensuring project priorities, business objectives, client expectations and delivery strategies are clearly aligned.

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion, including planning, resourcing, programming, procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, client communication and close-out.

- Maintain oversight of project performance, ensuring project teams actively manage scope, budget, schedule, quality, commercial risk,



contractual obligations, variations, claims and reporting requirements.

- Provide leadership to Project Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors and site teams to ensure consistent communication, effective decision-making, workforce planning and alignment between site activities and business requirements.

- Ensure project teams comply with HSE legislation, environmental requirements, client obligations, company procedures, management plans, audits, inspections, corrective actions and reporting requirements.

- Contribute to tender reviews, operational planning, resource forecasting, lessons learnt, continuous improvement and the development of consistent project delivery standards across the Operations team.

- Continuously improve operational systems, lessons learnt, and project delivery standards to drive consistency, scalability and best-practice performance across the Operations team.

Position requirements:

- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent senior industry experience.

- 10+ years’ experience in civil or infrastructure construction, including significant experience leading complex projects and senior operational teams.

- Robust understanding of WHS legislation, environmental obligations, quality systems, critical risk controls, incident management, audits,



inspections and corrective action processes.

- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, including planning, mobilisation, delivery, commercial management, stakeholder engagement and project close-out.

- Strong project delivery capability, including experience managing scope, budgets, programs, procurement, subcontractors, claims, variations, reporting and project risk.

- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, including planning, mobilisation, delivery, commercial management, stakeholder engagement and project close-out.

- Advanced commercial and contractual capability, including cost control, forecasting, procurement, variations, claims, client management and risk-based decision-making.
