We are run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people and work to provide culturally appropriate health, aged care and general support services in regional and remote communities, helping people to get home to country and family.
About the Role
The Recruitment Generalist will oversee a range of Recruitment responsibilities, supporting both the Recruitment Team, prospective employees and managers. This pivotal role includes managing day-to-day recruitment operations, collaborating closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to attract, assess, and select top talent, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience. Additionally, the role involves providing expert guidance on policies and procedures and ensuring strict adherence to employment laws and regulations, and data accuracy.
Key responsibilities
- Receive requests to hire for staff opportunities and ensure up-to-date position descriptions, and accurate position details before posting to job boards and socialising with networks.
- Review and update job advertisements to attract quality candidates.
- Work autonomously by providing end-to-end recruitment support for candidates and stakeholders in relation to staff recruitment processes.
- Contribute to, and support, recruitment strategies to ensure the best candidates are onboard at Purple House.
- Screen prospective employees to ensure cultural safety and respect and ensure appropriate hires for the Purple House working environment.
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders regarding position description population and classify the updated documents against the Enterprise Agreement.
- Provide advice and support to managers on best practice recruitment processes.
- Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, legislative requirements and the Enterprise Agreement, and provide support and advice on all aspects of these documents to candidates and stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation of offers for staff.
- Ensure all documentation and data related to new staff is accurate and compliant.
- Facilitate updates in the HRIS system to ensure operational effectiveness in recruitment processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in recruitment processes, policies, systems, and practice.
- Provide general administrative support in Recruitment and HR processes.
- Promote a safe work environment in accordance with legislative requirements, adheres to Work Health Safety guidelines, and reports all incidents and near misses.
- Other duties within trained capabilities as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Essential
- 2+ years demonstrated experience in Recruitment or Human Resources.
- Experience coordinating recruitment activities or projects with proven ability to be adaptable, think creatively and use initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- High level skills in communication, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a respectful and empowering approach with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness and capacity to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Satisfactory police clearance.
- Valid C Class driver's license.
- The legal right to work in Australia.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working in an Aboriginal Controlled Organisation.
