Our client is a global consulting and professional services organisation experiencing continued growth across Australia. With an established reputation for delivering risk, governance and assurance solutions to major organisations, they are expanding their Melbourne Risk and Compliance Advisory practice and are seeking an experienced consultant who is ready to take the next step into management.

This opportunity is suited to a risk consultant who enjoys client-facing work and wants greater ownership of engagements, stakeholder relationships and junior team members. You will work across operational risk, enterprise risk management, controls assurance, compliance and framework design projects for some of Australia's most recognised organisations.

Your new role
As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of risk and compliance advisory engagements. You will work directly with clients to strengthen risk and control environments, review and enhance frameworks, and translate complex issues into practical recommendations.

For an established consultant, this role offers a genuine step up into broader engagement leadership and people management.

Responsibilities will include:

- Leading the day-to-day delivery of operational risk, enterprise risk, compliance and controls assurance engagements
- Scoping work, developing project plans and coordinating engagement delivery across multiple client assignments
- Reviewing and designing risk management frameworks, governance structures and control environments
- Conducting control design and operating effectiveness assessments, risk assessments and framework reviews
- Managing client relationships and presenting explicit, practical recommendations to senior stakeholders




- Coaching and reviewing the work of consultants and supporting their development
- Managing engagement timelines, budgets, quality and project risks

What you'll need to succeed

- Approximately 6-10 years of experience in risk and compliance consulting, with flexibility for candidates below this range who can demonstrate readiness to step up
- Current or recent consulting experience within a professional services, risk advisory or specialist consulting environment
- Hands-on experience across enterprise risk, operational risk, controls assurance, compliance advisory or risk framework design
- Experience managing work streams or smaller engagements, including planning delivery and reviewing the work of junior team members
- A strong client-service mindset, with confidence in working across multiple clients and adapting to different business environments
- Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and written communication skills
- Financial services experience across banking, insurance, superannuation or wealth management will be highly regarded, although strong consulting experience from other sectors will also be considered
