- Use your accounting skills to help make a difference for young people.
- Be part of a dynamic organisation delivering best-practice youth mentoring to over 2,000 young people across Australia.
- Permanent part-time | 15 hours per week | Salary packaging available.
- Work remotely from anywhere in Australia, with the option to work from our Sydney office if you prefer.

About Raise

At Raise, we exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well—youth mentoring.

Our best-practice, early intervention mentoring program is proven to create lasting impact. By matching trained and trusted volunteer mentors with teenagers who need extra support, we help young people feel heard, valued, and hopeful for the future.

Operating in over 180 high schools across Australia, we provide life-changing mentoring to more than 2,000 young people every year.

Join our passionate village of people dedicated to making a difference. At Raise, you’ll work in a flexible, positive, and collaborative environment where your contributions have a real impact.

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll take ownership of clearly defined weekly tasks, with a focus on accounts payable and employee expenses. You’ll also support month-end reporting and general accounts administration.

Your work will help keep our day-to-day finances running smoothly so we can continue delivering mentoring to young people.

Key responsibilities include:

- Process approved supplier invoices and employee expense claims accurately and on time.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate or follow up discrepancies.
- Support month-end reporting, including routine journals and prepayments where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate accounts records and provide general accounts payable administration.
- Assist with finance projects and other accounts administration tasks as needed.

- Provide accounts receivable cover during periods of leave or absence.

A full list of responsibilities is available in the Position Description.

As a Youth Safe organisation, all roles at Raise contribute to maintaining protected and supportive environments for young people. This includes upholding our Youth Safety Code of Conduct, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, and actively supporting the safety and wellbeing of young people in all interactions.

The successful candidate must complete Raise’s selection process, including Youth Safety Checks, and hold a current Working with Children (Employee) Check and National Crime Check.

About you

You’re organised, methodical and comfortable taking responsibility for recurring tasks.

You bring:

- A qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business, or progress towards one.
- An understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts administration, gained through work, study or placement.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete weekly tasks reliably and independently.
- Confidence using accounting software and spreadsheets, and a willingness to learn new systems. Experience with Xero and/or Employment Hero expenses would be an advantage.
- The confidence to identify discrepancies, ask questions and follow through to resolution.
- Clear communication, a collaborative approach and respect for confidentiality. You know when to seek guidance.

Most importantly, you are inspired by Raise’s mission and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work directly impacts young people’s lives.
