About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Injury Management Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing workplace injuries, supporting injured employees, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities:

- Effectively manage workers compensation claims to ensure minimal time loss and impacts on premium.

- Collaborate with Payroll and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate calculations of workers compensation wage payments and wage reimbursement schedules.

- Liaise effectively with key external stakeholders including StateCover, medical and legal practitioners, and relevant legislative bodies to achieve optimal outcomes for Council and its employees.

- Assist the relevant stakeholders in the management of non-work related injuries/illnesses by developing non-work related return to work plans.

- Update and maintain records and databases to ensure that all information is accurately and correctly stored and accessible.

- Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open,



fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.

- Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager, and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.

About you

We are looking for a someone who has:

- Experience in injury management, occupational health, or a similar role is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.

- Strong time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
