Role Description
The Manager role at Coughlin Advisory is a full-time position based in Sydney, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the Manager will lead client engagements focused on energy transition, decarbonisation, and organizational optimisation, including scoping projects, developing work plans, and overseeing delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting industry and market analysis, preparing strategic recommendations, developing presentations and reports, and facilitating workshops with client stakeholders. The Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, mentor junior colleagues,
and ensure high-quality, timely outcomes for clients. The role also involves contributing to business development activities, such as proposal preparation, thought leadership, and relationship-building with current and prospective clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in strategy, management consulting, or advisory roles, ideally within energy, utilities, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex data, market trends, and regulatory information.
- Demonstrated capability in project management, stakeholder engagement, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing client reports, presentations, and executive briefings.
- Understanding of energy transition, decarbonisation, and sustainability issues, with a genuine interest in clean energy and economic transformation.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, balancing on-site client work in Sydney, NSW with remote collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, science, public policy, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Proven ability to build client relationships, support business development, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
