- Band 5, Starting Full Time salary $81,411 (Pro rata) plus superannuation

The Role

As one of our Senior Local Laws Officers, you will:

- Inform and educate the community on issues relating to local laws
- Investigate and resolve breaches of local laws and other relevant legislation, including the Domestic Animals Act, Impounding of Livestock Act, and the Environmental Protection Act
- Issue compliance orders, official warnings and infringement notices as a result of these investigations
- Prepare written reports and documents to a high standard

This an ongoing part time role, with workdays of Thursday and Friday weekly. The position is based at Galkangu - Bendigo GovHub, but will travel to locations across the Greater Bendigo region and works 9am - 5pm.

About You

You will have a customer service focus and:

- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Experience in local laws or a similar regulatory environment
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant Acts and local laws
- Strong time management and organisation skills
- Enjoy working in a team environment

A National Police Check assessment, a pre-employment medical, Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to get one) and current drivers licence is required for this position.
