Carnarvon Community College is seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff throughout the college in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. They possess the ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students. Successful applicants will provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. Suitable applicants will be engaged to work with both Primary and Secondary students.

Suitable applicants will display robust communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. They will be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.

Suitable applicants are committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and are collegial, effective collaborators.



They demonstrate the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers. They have strong knowledge of a range of evidence‑based techniques for learning and behaviour and have some experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
