2027 Mechanical Apprenticeships at Western Port

Operating since 1979, at Chelgrave Contracting Australia Pty Ltd, we are a dedicated Shutdown and Maintenance Specialists company. Looking ahead, we are now seeking enthusiastic candidates to join our exciting mechanical apprenticeship program in 2027.

As a Mechanical Apprentice, you’ll undertake a structured four-year rotation at BlueScope, Western Port, a respected Australian steel manufacturer. You’ll experience a qualified, inclusive workplace with a robust safety culture (in line with the international ResponsibleSteel Standard ). All tools, uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE)



will be supplied and you’ll also have access to the following:

- extensive on- and off-the-job training to develop your practical skills and knowledge;
- state-of-the‑art manufacturing equipment; and
- an attractive remuneration package.

- Successful completion of a full Year 10 education;
- A Certificate II in Engineering Studies would be highly regarded;
- aged 16 years and over (adult apprentice candidates will also be considered);
- eligibility for employment in Australia.
