Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative – Family, Care and Early Years now has the following vacancy at our Mooroopna Office:
Team Leader Early Years
Full-time, 38 hours a week – Ongoing
This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
About the Role
Help lead a team delivering culturally safe support to Aboriginal children, young people and families. Working closely with the Early Years Services Program Manager, you’ll guide Aboriginal ways of working and support quality, compliance and Rumbalara’s strategic direction.
You’ll work across these Early Years Services programs:
- Connected Beginnings Health and Education
- Koorie Families as First Educators (KFFE)
- Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY)
About You
You’ll bring:
- A Diploma in Leadership, Management, Community Services or a related field.
- Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and leading a team to create a culturally safe and healthy workplace.
- Knowledge of the local Aboriginal community and culture.
- An understanding of the factors affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- A clear understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
- Experience leading a team and managing conflict.

Pre-employment Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment screening, including a National Police Check and Working with Children Check, Victorian driver licence, and Confirmation of Aboriginality.
