The Role

MJI Group is seeking an experienced Cabler to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Examining drawings, specifications and work areas to determine the positioning and connections for equipment to be installed;
Installing internal telecommunications and data cabling, equipment and peripherals for computer networks, telephony, cable television and monitored security and fire alarm systems;
Installing cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV and computer transmission systems;
Installing telecommunications equipment and appliances, including telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment;
Erecting, testing and maintaining aerial and underground wires and cables, including radio and mobile phone antennae;
Locating faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and transmission measuring equipment;




Attaching wires and cables to appliances and telecommunications equipment;
Adjusting, replacing and repairing faulty equipment and testing equipment using electronic instruments;
Joining cables and sealing cable sheaths with lead and thermoplastic materials;
Performing testing, maintenance and fault-finding to ensure telecommunications systems operate correctly;
Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with relevant technical, quality and workplace health and safety requirements; and
Working effectively both independently and as part of the wider MJI Group team.

Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for the role, you must have the following:
Relevant AQF Certificate III qualification, including at least 2 years of on-the-job training; or
At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Cabler in a similar workplace may substitute for the formal qualification;
Relevant experience in telecommunications cabling and installation;
Demonstrated ability to identify, diagnose and repair telecommunications faults;
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
Experience in upholding proper workplace health and safety requirements;
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship; and
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary
Expected salary: $79,500 per annum + superannuation
