Your Role
As an Army Human Resources Administrator, you'll serve as a uniformed member of the Australian Army, working in a unique combat support role to ensure military personnel are equipped with the administrative and personnel support they need to succeed. Unlike a typical office-based administration job, you'll have opportunities to get out in the field and participate in exercises or operations, providing key administrative support when required. You'll undertake a range of responsibilities, including personnel administration, financial management, and other clerical support tasks that contribute directly to Army capability.
You'll also have the opportunity to travel across Australia and overseas, working in a variety of environments alongside other military personnel. You may support joint operations with the Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force, gaining exposure to the broader Australian Defence Force. In the Australian Army, you'll be paid from day one while developing the skills you need through extensive on-the-job training. Common Duties
- Pay and Personnel Administration – Provide administrative support directly to military personnel, or pay and personnel administrative support for personnel
- Resource and Financial Management – Conduct financial resource management within a unit, encompassing a diverse range of clerical, administrative,
resource and financial management duties
- Staff Clerk – Undertake a range of administrative and clerical support functions within a headquarters structure, such as assisting staff officers with planning, contributing to appreciations, developing orders, coordinating tasks and operational support requirements (including financial management and training area support)
- Data Analysis – Review data to discover practical information, inform conclusions and support decision-making
- General soldiering duties, such as manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles and field equipment, and navigation.

Competitive Salary + Generous Superannuation of 16.4%
Get paid to train from day one and earn a salary: $60,517 per year
Once you’ve completed training, you can earn: $82,322 per year
Your salary will continue to increase based on your rank and years of service.
Location
Once you have completed your training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. Most of these positions are in North QLD, South QLD, SA and the NT.
Eligibility
For this role, you must:
- Be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Maths
