About the Role:
We are continually looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our team.
Our Hunter Valley team is currently seeking a Senior Engineer on a permanent full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities and Activities Include:
As a Senior Civil/Tailings Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering challenging mining, tailings, water and civil infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally.
Working closely with Principals and multidisciplinary teams, you will:
- Lead the technical delivery of civil, tailings and earthworks projects from concept through to construction support.
- Develop practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that balance technical excellence, client needs and commercial outcomes.
- Prepare and review engineering analyses, designs, reports, specifications and project documentation.
- Build trusted relationships with clients through proactive communication and high-quality project delivery.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects, including scope, budget, schedule, resourcing and risk management.
- Prepare proposals, fee estimates and business development opportunities.
- Undertake site investigations, inspections and audits across a variety of mining and infrastructure projects.
- Mentor and develop graduate and junior engineers, helping strengthen the capability of the Newcastle team.
- Collaborate with technical specialists across ATC Williams' national network to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Champion safe, sustainable and innovative engineering outcomes.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements Include:
You are an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical work, client interaction and project leadership. You are motivated by solving complex problems, developing others and contributing to the growth of a high-performing team.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and eligibility for professional registration.
- 5-10 years' experience in civil, tailings, mining or related infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering engineering design projects through investigation, design and construction phases.
- Familiarity with mining and tailings projects.
- Strong technical reporting, analysis and design skills.
- Experience managing project scopes, budgets, schedules and client relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong commercial awareness.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior engineers.
