About the role

As a Sales Assistant, this is your opportunity to deliver great customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the store and warehouse, contributing to the mission and impact of The Salvation Army.

Reporting to the Corps Operations and Services Manager, this is a casual role based onsite in Southern Highlands, NSW.

How you will make an impact

- Deliver exceptional customer service and assist customers across all areas of the store.
- Process donations, replenish stock, and ensure merchandise is correctly priced and presented.
- Support store promotions, visual merchandising, and marketing activities.
- Maintain cash handling and banking procedures in line with policy.
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organised store environment.
- Follow Work Health & Safety requirements and complete other duties as directed.

What you will bring

- Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to interact with a variety of people, using tact, discretion and diplomacy in challenging or sensitive situations.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, multitask and communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, customers and donors in a courteous and respectful manner.
- A National police record check is required and prior to commencement
- Knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace
- Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of this position

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with General Retail Award Level 1
