About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable person to join our team as a Flooring Apprentice, as well as an experienced Floor Finisher.
Option 1 – Flooring Apprentice
MSF30822 Certificate III in Flooring Technology
This is an opportunity for someone looking to establish a long-term career in the timber flooring industry.
The successful applicant will undertake a Certificate III in Flooring Technology (MSF30822) as part of their apprenticeship, gaining practical, on-the-job experience while working alongside experienced flooring tradespeople.
The training will focus on developing practical skills and knowledge relevant to timber flooring, including floor preparation, sanding, installation and finishing.
No previous flooring experience is required for the right applicant. A willingness to learn, strong work ethic and commitment to developing a trade are essential.
Option 2 – Experienced Floor Finisher
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated floor finisher with demonstrated experience in timber flooring.
The successful applicant will be confident working across the preparation, sanding and finishing of timber floors and take pride in producing a high standard of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your level of experience, duties will include:
- Measuring areas and calculating quantities of flooring and finishing materials.
- Assessing flooring areas and identifying preparation requirements.
- Preparing timber floors for sanding and finishing.
- Operating professional floor sanding and preparation machinery.
- Sanding timber floors using appropriate techniques.
- Preparing timber surfaces for finishing.
- Staining timber floors where required.
- Applying finishing coatings to timber floors.
- Installing and working with relevant timber flooring materials.
- Using appropriate tools, equipment and materials safely.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Following workplace procedures and safety requirements.
- Working effectively as part of a professional flooring team.
About You
Flooring Apprentice – MSF30822
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
- Takes pride in their work and wants to develop a skilled trade.
- Is physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
- Has good attention to detail.
- Can work effectively as part of a team.
- Is committed to completing their MSF30822 Certificate III in Flooring Technology.
- Is prepared to work flexible hours depending on project requirements.
- Has a current driver’s licence.
Previous construction or trade experience is an advantage but is not essential.
Experienced Floor Finisher
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in the timber flooring industry.
- Demonstrated experience in timber floor sanding and finishing.
- Experience operating professional floor sanding machinery.
- Experience with staining and applying floor finishing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A current driver’s licence.
