About the Position

As the Senior Group Fitness Instructor, you will lead and support the delivery of high-quality group fitness programs that promote participation, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. You will oversee the day-to-day administration of the Group Fitness team, including instructor compliance, rostering, timesheets, and attendance monitoring, while providing leadership and support to ensure programs are delivered to a high standard.

This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, promoting programs to increase community participation, resolving customer enquiries and concerns, and identifying opportunities to improve services and operations. Working closely with the broader Recreation team, you will contribute to achieving service goals while fostering a positive and engaging fitness culture.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity.

About You

Essential

- Certificate III in Fitness (or equivalent), with current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing Group Fitness timetables, including instructor availability, class covers, timetable changes and maintaining service continuity.
- Experience coordinating Group Fitness operations across multiple sites, or within a large and complex fitness/recreation environment.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, stay on top of operational requirements and follow tasks through to completion.
- Strong digital capability and confidence using technology, including rostering, booking and facility management systems, Microsoft Office applications and other digital platforms.

Desirable

- Certificate IV in Fitness or other relevant sport, recreation or fitness qualifications.
- Current Group Fitness program qualifications, including Les Mills or other relevant program certifications.
- Experience working within a local government, aquatic or recreation centre environment.
- Experience contributing to the development, implementation or review of Group Fitness programs and initiatives.
- Experience reviewing Group Fitness performance, including attendance, utilisation trends and member feedback,



and using this information to make informed recommendations.
