Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the kitchen and related areas.

- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand and using commercial dishwashing equipment.

- Ensure all kitchen equipment and appliances are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.

- Empty rubbish and recycling bins regularly to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.

- Store clean equipment, utensils, and kitchen items in their designated areas.





- Follow all workplace health, safety, and food hygiene procedures at all times.

- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure an efficient workflow and positive working environment.

- Report any maintenance issues, equipment faults, or repair requirements to the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.

- Assist the kitchen team with general cleaning and stewarding duties as required.

Please note: This is a live-on-island position, offering the opportunity to live and work at Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

- Previous experience in a similar stewarding, kitchen hand, or hospitality role is preferred.

- A basic understanding of kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning procedures.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

- Robust communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Physically fit, with the stamina to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move heavy items.

- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.

- Reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

- Must be legally eligible to work in Australia.
