About the role

NV Lawyers are seeking a dedicated Debt Recovery Paralegal to join our legal team in Sydney. This is a full-time position based in Sydney CBD. As a Debt Recovery Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our debt recovery operations, providing essential administrative and legal support to ensure the smooth progression of debt recovery matters. This position is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our debt recovery practice and delivering quality outcomes for our clients.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and filing legal documents, pleadings and correspondence relating to debt recovery proceedings

- Collections activity in respect of unpaid debt

- Devising and implementing enforcement strategies

- Assisting with the management of case files, ensuring all documentation is organised, accurate and accessible

- Liaising with clients, creditors, debtors and court administration to facilitate communication and case progression

- Drafting routine legal correspondence, demand letters and settlement documentation

- Maintaining accurate records of all transactions, payments and communications related to cases

- Conducting investigations into debtor information and asset tracing

- Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and court rules

- Providing administrative support to legal practitioners and debt recovery specialists





What we're looking for

- Minimum 1 years' experience working in debt recovery or collections

- Solid knowledge of debt recovery and collections practices and procedures

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear legal correspondence

- Proficiency in legal practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

- A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in all documentation

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented legal team

- Professional demeanour and the ability to interact with clients and court personnel effectively

- Law students seeking to transition into the role of a solicitor will also be considered for this role.
