Workfast is currently seeking experienced Plant Operators to join an established Asphalt production team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mobile plant operation experience who are looking for ongoing work within a large-scale infrastructure and construction materials environment.
We are ideally seeking candidates with Front End Loader and Forklift tickets, who have experience working around production environments and are confident operating mobile plant while supporting asphalt manufacturing and dispatch operations.
- $41.97/hr
Roster: Project-based roster - candidates must be flexible and available for:
- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Rotating rosters
- Weekend work where required
You will be responsible for supporting the safe production, allocation and dispatch of asphalt products while operating mobile plant and assisting with day-to-day requirements.
This role will involve working within a busy asphalt production environment, ensuring equipment is operated safely, production targets are met, and site standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile plant including:
- Front End Loader
- Bobcat
- Forklift
- Assist with asphalt production, allocation and dispatch processes.
- Monitor asphalt plant operations and complete routine equipment checks.
- Carry out basic maintenance checks and report equipment faults.
- Support production requirements while maintaining product quality standards.
- Escalate any quality issues or operational concerns to supervisors.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience operating mobile plant in a production, asphalt, quarry, civil or industrial setting.
- Current Front End Loader ticket (highly desirable).
- Current Forklift licence (highly desirable).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment issues.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strong focus on safety and following workplace procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Desirable Experience
- Previous asphalt, quarry or construction materials experience.
- Trade or engineering background.
- Heavy Vehicle Chain of Responsibility (CoR) awareness.
