About the role

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Operator to join our team at our BOWEN QLD QUARRY on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our quarrying operations, where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various pieces of plant and machinery essential to our daily production activities. As a Multi Skilled Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Your versatility and ability to operate multiple equipment types will be fundamental to the success of our quarry operations and your contribution will directly impact our operational performance and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

1. Operate a variety of plant and machinery including excavators, loaders, dump trucks and mobile crushing equipment in accordance with operational procedures and safety guidelines

2. Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on all equipment to identify and report any mechanical issues or defects

3. Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, fuel consumption, maintenance activities and production outputs

4. Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

5. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and other site personnel to ensure coordinated and safe operations

Operate in compliance with all relevant quarrying regulations, environmental requirements and company policies

7. Assist with loading, unloading and material handling activities as required

8. Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment

What we're looking for

1. Demonstrated experience operating multiple types of plant and machinery in a quarrying, construction or similar industrial environment is preferred, but not essential

2. Strong understanding of health and safety protocols specific to quarrying and plant operations

3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively and take direction from supervisors

4. Reliability and punctuality with a strong commitment to maintaining safe work practices

5. Competency in basic maintenance and pre-operational checks of plant and equipment
