We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Business Analyst to join our ICT team and play a key role in shaping the future of our technology and business transformation initiatives.
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will lead business analysis activities across a diverse portfolio of projects and continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver innovative digital solutions that enhance customer and business outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Business Analyst who thrives on solving complex problems, mentoring others, and translating business needs into practical technology solutions.
Please note this role will be required to be on site 4 days per week initially with potential for 2 days WFH after the first three months
About the role
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for leading business analysis practices and providing expert guidance on requirements gathering, process improvement, solution design, testing and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with business leaders, operational teams, project managers, solution partners and technology specialists to deliver value-driven outcomes. You will also play an key leadership role by mentoring analysts, strengthening business analysis capability, and contributing to the development of frameworks, methodologies and tools that support successful project delivery.

Victorian Convention and Event Trust: With over 30 years of event management expertise, the Victorian Convention and Event Trust (VCET) is the powerhouse behind two of Victoria’s most iconic venues—Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) and the newly open Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre and oversees the strategic direction and operational management of both venues, ensuring they deliver world-class events and experiences.

About the team:
The ICT team strives to provide solutions and support to make everyone at MCEC's work easier.
Our vision is to enable informed business users who feel free to approach us for support and solutions to their business problems. We do this by fostering trusted partnerships and delivering business solutions that are designed to lighten workloads and simplify processes. The department is made up of five specialist areas: Infrastructure and Network, Cyber Security, Enterprise Applications, Service Management and Projects
About you:
Tertiary qualified in Information Technology, Business, Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience you may also have PRINCE2 Certification, ITIL 4 Foundation and Lean Six Sigma Certification.
You will demonstrate extensive experience in business analysis, requirements gathering and process improvement and an ability to analyse business performance and develop actionable recommendations.
Experienced in mentoring and supporting team members to improve capability and outcomes and role modelling strong structured problem-solving and critical thinking skills, excellent written, presentation and storytelling capabilities.
You’ll likely have experience working with data analytics, APIs and cloud-based technologies and an ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
We’d love you to have technical project management exposure, experience with predictive and data analytics, an understanding of programming languages and modern data tools and exposure to descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics methodologies.
