About the role

The Engineering Technologist applies engineering principles to keep our clients' mining plant and equipment running safely and reliably. The role reports to the Site Manager and works closely with site engineers, supervisors, trades teams and client representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mining machinery and fixed and mobile plant, diagnose faults and recommend corrective actions

• Analyse engineering data, maintenance reports and operational issues to identify and resolve technical problems

• Help develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs

• Support the installation, calibration, commissioning and testing of engineering systems and components

• Adapt engineering methods to suit site conditions and environmental constraints

• Prepare engineering reports, specifications,



maintenance schedules and risk assessments

• Keep accurate technical records and asset histories

• Make sure work meets relevant Australian Standards, WHS legislation, client procedures and site safety rules

• Coordinate maintenance activities with site engineers, supervisors, trades teams, contractors and client representatives

• Take part in toolbox talks, planning meetings and site briefings

• Provide technical input into bids, proposals and technical presentations

Skills and experience required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline

• At least one year of full time experience as an Engineering Technologist

• Practical knowledge of the maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment

• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills

• Ability to prepare explicit engineering reports, maintenance schedules and risk assessments

• Ability to work safely at remote mine sites and to travel within Western Australia as required

• Willingness to complete site medical assessments and drug and alcohol testing as required by client sites

• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
