You’re supporting children, young people and families who each have their own experiences, strengths, challenges and goals.
One day might involve working alongside a parent to build confidence and develop practical parenting skills.
Another might involve helping a family establish routines, connect with the right supports or work through a challenging situation.
You might help parents recognise their strengths and build on what they’re already doing well.
You might support a young person to feel heard, understood and valued.
You might help a child feel safe, settled and supported at home.
You might listen to a parent who is having a difficult day and help them work through what comes next.
And sometimes, you’ll need to build trust with a family while supporting them through complex and challenging circumstances.
That’s where your ability to stay calm, build genuine relationships and see the strengths in others really matters.
