Indigeco is seeking an experienced Principal Cyber Network Security Architect for an opportunity with NSW State Government.

Help protect critical government infrastructure by designing secure, resilient and scalable networks across IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This role combines technical architecture, implementation and expert advice to strengthen cyber resilience and support the organisation’s Cyber Security Roadmap.

About the role

You will assess network risks, develop secure network designs and implement security controls across IT, OT and backhaul networks. Working with technical teams, governance specialists, vendors and project stakeholders, you will deliver solutions aligned with NSW and Federal Government frameworks and policies.

Key responsibilities

- Design and implement secure network architectures using routing, switching, next-generation firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC) and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC).

- Produce detailed design and as-built documentation, including network diagrams.

- Provide expert network security advice to support projects, operational teams and strategic planning.

- Design cloud network solutions incorporating Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

- Audit and assess network security risks across IT, OT and backhaul environments.

- Apply NIST, ISO and Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) standards to strengthen security controls.





- Support secure and reliable critical communications systems, including P25 networking and supporting infrastructure.

- Implement automation for device backups, configuration comparisons and network changes.

- Build strong stakeholder relationships, manage technical issues and contribute to successful project delivery.

About you

You will bring:

- Robust experience designing and implementing secure, resilient and scalable network infrastructure.

- Technical expertise across routing, switching, firewalls, NAC and ADC technologies.

- Experience assessing cyber risks and developing security solutions across IT and OT environments.

- Knowledge of cloud networking, CDNs and DDoS mitigation.

- Specialist knowledge of critical communications systems, including P25 networks.

- Experience using automation to improve network management and operational consistency.

- The ability to translate complex technical information into clear advice and documentation.

- Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and project delivery skills.

Essential requirements

- Relevant certifications in IT and Cyber Security.

- A current Baseline security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
