Duties
- Conduct vehicle and asset movement
- Construct, alter, and repair tipper body and chassis components.
- Accurately build to job card specifications and drawings.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and scheduling.
- Understand fundamentals of fabrication and air control systems for heavy trailers
- Understand EBS braking and trailer electrical
- Training and overseeing all employees in area including monitoring attendance of crew.
- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans set by operations manager to acquit production schedule.
- Maintains high-quality servicing and repairs and minimizes comebacks.
- Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
- Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.
- Monitors shop condition, including cleanliness, safety and the condition of shop equipment.
General
- Follows Work Health and Safety (WH&S;) guidelines as well as company policies and procedures
- Other duties deemed suitable with position as required
- Minimum 5+ years trailer building experience
- Experience managing teams
- High computer literacy required
