Common Duties

- As a Communications System Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating cutting-edge technology, such as satellite terminals, radios and advanced security equipment, to provide vital military communications anywhere in the world

- As an Electronic Systems Technician, you’ll be responsible for looking after some of the world’s most technologically advanced equipment, where you’ll handle and maintain a range of high-tech Army assets. From weapons systems and vehicles to medical equipment and electronic surveillance devices, your key tasks will be to keep these vital technologies operating

- As an Information Systems Technician, you’ll keep the Army connected and communicating effectively by operating and maintaining advanced networks using the latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment. This is no ordinary IT role. You’ll manage sophisticated military software and hardware and play an important role in determining the success of military operations.

Competitive Salary + Generous Superannuation of 16.4%
Starting salary while training: $60,517 per year

Salary after completing training from: $86,453 per year

Your salary will continue to increase based on your rank and years of service.

Location
Once you have completed your training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. Most of these positions are in Victoria, North QLD, South QLD, and the NT.

Eligibility
For this role, you must:

- Be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics.

- In addition, Electronic Systems Technician requires passes in Science (with a Physics component desirable) and one other subject
