You’ll do general soldier duties including manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles and field equipment and navigation.

Common Duties

- As an Avionics Technician, you’ll maintain a range of avionics equipment on aircraft. You’ll specialise in the inspection, modification, repair, testing and maintenance of Army aircraft, engines, armament and safety and ancillary equipment.

- As an Electronic Systems Technician, you’ll work in a team who are responsible for looking after some of the world’s most technologically advanced equipment, where you’ll handle and maintain a range of high-tech Army assets. From weapons systems and vehicles, to medical equipment and electronic surveillance devices, your key tasks will be to keep these vital technologies operating.

- As a Marine Technician, you’ll be a valued member of a team, operating and maintaining the marine equipment that allows the Army to successfully carry out exercises and operations. You’ll inspect, repair, modify and recondition a wide variety of Army Marine Equipment.





- As a Telecommunications Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of the IT industry, operating cutting-edge technology in the Army as part of a team that is always looking towards the future. You’ll keep the Army connected by managing and maintaining advanced military satellite systems and cyberspace capabilities.

Market-competitive salary + Generous Superannuation of 16.4%
Starting salary while training: $60,517 per year

Salary after completing training: $90,919 per year

Your salary will continue to increase based on your rank and years of service.

Location
Once you have completed your training,



you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. Most of these positions are in North QLD, South QLD, and the NT.

Eligibility:
For this role, you must:

- Be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics.

- In addition to this:

- Telecommunications Technician requires passes in Science (preferably with a Physics component).

- Avionics Technician, Electronic Systems Technician and Marine Technician require passes in Science (preferably with a Physics component) and one other subject.
