Homeless Healthcare is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team, with opportunities available across the organisation. Part time positions are available, including morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.
Homeless Healthcare is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation providing integrated healthcare services to people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness across Perth.
Our services span a unique range of healthcare programs, supporting people through every stage of their healthcare journey. This includes:
- Medical Respite for people recovering from illness, injury or hospital admission
- In-reach into mental health supported accommodation
- Clinics at drop-in centres, therapeutic communities and transitional accommodation services
- Hospital in-reach service
- Assertive Street Outreach (Perth & surrounds)
- Fixed site primary care Hub
Registered Nurses are employed across a range of programs and settings within Homeless Healthcare. Depending on the service area, nurses provide clinical assessment, medication management, wound care, chronic disease management, care coordination, health education, discharge planning, harm minimisation support and advocacy, mental health support and referrals.
Working alongside GPs and NPs, Peer Workers, Case Workers, Allied Health professionals and community partners, our nurses play a critical role in delivering person-centred care to people with complex health and social needs. We are committed to trauma-informed practice and harm minimisation approaches, recognising that meaningful healthcare starts with trust, respect and meeting people where they are.
About You
To be successful in this role,
you will be a confident and experienced Registered Nurse who is comfortable working autonomously while contributing as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build rapport with people who may have complex health and social needs, experiences of trauma, or previous barriers to accessing healthcare.
You will be committed to providing compassionate, non-judgemental care and working within a person-centred, trauma-informed and harm minimisation framework.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Minimum three years' post-graduate nursing experience
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current CPR certification
- Full, unrestricted Australian driver's licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Experience in mental health and/or alcohol and other drug nursing
- Community nursing, primary healthcare or Emergency Department experience
- Experience and confidence in wound care, ECGs, phlebotomy and immunisations
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage or complex social circumstances
