Perfect next step for an Infrastructure Engineer moving into cyber security
Own enterprise security platforms while building broader cyber expertise
Strong Windows, Linux, networking and troubleshooting skills valued over knowing every security tool
Turn your infrastructure experience into a career in Cyber Security Engineering.
If you've built a strong background inInfrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration or Platform Engineeringand have started moving into cyber security, this could be the ideal next step.
We're looking for aPlatform Security Engineerto join a large enterprise Cyber Security team.
You'll use your existing infrastructure knowledge across Windows, Linux, networking and applications to take ownership of critical security platforms.
You don't need to be an expert in every security technology already.
What's more significant is that you have strong technical fundamentals, can troubleshoot problems properly and have started building hands‐on cyber security experience.
What you'll do
Take ownership of a primary security platform while supporting additional platforms across the wider security environment.
Manage platform health, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades and continuous improvement.
Investigate technical issues across Windows, Linux, networking and applications.
Work across security technologies covering areas such as IAM, PAM, SIEM, EDR, DLP and email security.
Work with platforms such as CyberArk, SailPoint and Mimecast.
Diagnose problems internally before engaging vendors and manage technical escalations through to resolution.
Work alongside experienced Security Engineers and Architects on platform improvements and projects.
Contribute to automation, integrations and the longer‐term strategy of your platforms.
Communicate technical issues clearly with engineers, vendors and senior stakeholders.
The broader environment also includes automation and integrations across cloud and on‐premises systems, alongside end‐to‐end ownership of security technologies.
What you'll bring
We're particularly interested in people who have a stronginfrastructure background and have started building their career in cyber security.
You'll ideally have
Strong experience acrossInfrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration or Platform Engineering.
Hands‐on exposure to cyber security technologies or security‐focused infrastructure.
StrongWindows and Linuxfundamentals.
Good networking knowledge and an understanding of how applications, infrastructure and security interact.
Experience administering and supporting complex enterprise platforms.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through unfamiliar technical problems logically.
Exposure to areas such as IAM, PAM, SIEM, EDR, DLP or email security.
Experience working with third-party vendors and managing technical escalations.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Experience withCyberArk, SailPoint, Splunk, SentinelOne, AWS or Microsoft security technologieswould be beneficial, but you don't need to tick every box.
Why join?
This is a great opportunity to make the move fromInfrastructure into Cyber Security Engineeringwithout losing the technical skills you've spent years building.
You'll join a team of experienced Security Engineers and Architects within a large enterprise security environment.
There's significant investment across both existing platforms and new security projects, giving you the opportunity to learn technologies you may not have been exposed to previously.
Rather than being siloed into one area, you'll develop deep ownership of your primary platform while gradually broadening your knowledge across a much larger security technology estate.
You'll also receive:
2 days per week in the Barangaroo office.
2 additional annual leave days.
Approximately $1,000 towards devices.
Salary sacrifice options across eligible devices.
Genuine opportunity to develop your career in Cyber Security Engineering.
