About the Role
Make an impact at the University of Wollongong (UOW) - a purpose driven institution ranked in the top 1% of universities globally.
Key responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with GSM and UOW to ensure the GSM MD program is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and addresses all accreditation requirements
Lead the Indigenous Health team in its strategies to increase Indigenous student recruitment and retention, improve the Indigenous Health curriculum and support UOW staff to address equity matters in relation to Indigenous staff and students
Lead the development and delivery of Indigenous Health curriculum, teaching and assessment within the MD program
Build and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities, health services and key stakeholders
Support the recruitment, retention and success of Indigenous medical students
Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Indigenous staff and students
Contribute to Indigenous Health research, accreditation activities and strategic initiatives across the program

An understanding of AMC processes, changes to its Medical School Accreditation Standards and conditions to improve Medical Programs
A passion for advancing Indigenous Health education, research and outcomes
Solid connections with Indigenous communities and a commitment to culturally safe practice
Experience in teaching, curriculum development and student support
Research expertise or an emerging research profile in Indigenous Health
The ability to build meaningful partnerships and inspire others through collaboration and leadership

Employment type: Continuing Contingent* | Full‐time appointment
Level D:



$183,028 - $196,423 + 17% Superannuation
Location: Based at Wollongong campus, with occasional travel to Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands campuses
