Your new role
As a Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while providing expert tax, compliance and advisory services. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and play an important role in mentoring junior team members.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Managing a portfolio of business and private clients across a range of industries
Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns
Delivering tax planning and business advisory services
Preparing and reviewing BAS, IAS, FBT and other compliance obligations
Building solid client relationships through proactive communication and support
Liaising with relevant regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
Reviewing the work of junior and intermediate accountants
Assisting with workflow management and process improvement initiatives
Supporting the adoption of technology and best-practice systems across the business
About The Candidate
At least 5 years' experience within Australian public practice accounting
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types
Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Experience mentoring, coaching or reviewing the work of junior staff
Exposure to business advisory, tax planning or commercial consulting services
Experience with cloud-based accounting and practice management systems, with exposure to platforms such as Xero highly regarded
