This is a hands-on, generalist HR role suited to someone who enjoys being trusted, visible and proactive, with strong employee relations capability and a passion for supporting leaders on the ground.
About the Role
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Advisor plays a key role in providing end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will work closely with managers, supervisors and employees to provide practical advice, support performance and engagement, and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing advice to employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation
Managing employee relations matters, including grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, inductions and offboarding
Partnering with leaders on performance management, PIPs and development conversations
Conducting regular check-ins with site supervisors to identify pinch points and provide support
Coordinating training and development initiatives
Supporting employee engagement, recognition and culture initiatives
HR reporting, analytics and continuous improvement projects
Supporting compliance, audits and HR risk management activities
About You
You are a confident and approachable HR skilled who enjoys working closely with leaders and employees. You balance empathy with professionalism, and you're comfortable handling sensitive matters with discretion.
You will bring:
3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR or Employee Relations role
Experience providing ER advice and support to managers
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Sound conflict resolution and problem-solving capability
Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
Proficiency in MS Office 365 and HR systems
Tertiary qualifications in HR, ER or employment law (desirable)
