Synergie Australia is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a trusted client located in Milton, QLD.
The important parts:
Pay:
$65 per hour + Super | ⏳ Duration: 3-month contract
Hours:
Monday-Friday | 38 hours per week
What you will be required to do:
You'll support a major payroll transformation initiative, working closely with payroll, HR, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful rollout of new payroll systems and processes.
Support the rollout, testing, and implementation of new payroll software
Assist with payroll data migration, validation, and go-live activities
Provide support across payroll project delivery and transformation initiatives
Review payroll processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
Document standard operating procedures and standardise payroll workflows
Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, payroll legislation, and governance requirements
Analyse payroll data and support reporting requirements
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
Act as a change champion, supporting adoption of new systems and processes
To be successful in the role you will:
Have proven experience in a large multi-site, multi-agreement payroll workplace
Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, compliance, and governance
Have experience supporting payroll projects, payroll system implementations, or payroll transformations




Possess the ability to interpret industrial instruments, awards, and enterprise agreements
Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
Have experience with HRIS and payroll systems analysis
Demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Be capable of managing competing priorities within a complex operational environment
Have exposure to payroll systems such as Preceda and/or Kronos (highly regarded)
