Sante Recruitment is seeking a Senior Medical Officer to join the healthcare team at Maryborough Correctional Centre, providing high-quality primary healthcare to patients within a secure correctional environment.

Permanent full-time (80 hours per fortnight) or permanent part-time positions are available, with part-time hours negotiable.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Medical Officer, you will provide high-quality, best-practice primary healthcare to prisoners within your scope of practice.
Comprehensive assessment and management of patients
Providing ongoing primary healthcare within the correctional environment
Managing acute and chronic medical conditions
Developing and implementing appropriate treatment and care plans
Referring patients to hospitals, specialist clinics and other health services when required
Working collaboratively with nursing, allied health and other healthcare professionals
Supporting continuity and quality of care
Contributing to clinical governance and contemporary healthcare practices
Opportunity to Establish Private Practice
One of the unique attractions of this position is the potential opportunity to establish a private medical practice alongside your Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service appointment.
Private Practice Support
Use of local private hospital sessional rooms to assist with establishing your practice
Assistance with credentialling and administrative requirements
Support in developing local referral pathways
Introductions to local GPs, physicians and surgeons
Opportunities to establish qualified networks within the local medical community
Remuneration & Benefits
A highly competitive remuneration package is available, with a total package of up to $564,548 p.a.
Salary
$192,257 – $281,545 p.a. full-time

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a Senior Medical Officer who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred healthcare.
You Will Have
Appropriate medical qualifications
Current or eligibility for registration with AHPRA
Experience in primary care, general practice or a comparable medical environment
Strong clinical assessment and management skills
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
A commitment to evidence-based and culturally appropriate healthcare
The ability to work effectively within a correctional healthcare environment
Doctors with an interest in developing a regional private practice are particularly encouraged to enquire.
