Lead and advance nursing and midwifery research across the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, driving innovation, building research capability, fostering strategic partnerships and translating evidence into improved patient care and healthcare outcomes.
About the role
The Nursing and Midwifery Director - Research provides strategic leadership and expert research advice to advance research capability, capacity and performance across nursing and midwifery services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Working within the Nursing & Midwifery Research Centre, this role leads the development and implementation of research strategies, promotes evidence-based practice, and supports the translation of research outcomes into improved patient care and health service delivery.
The successful candidate will collaborate with nursing and midwifery leaders, academic partners and healthcare stakeholders to strengthen research culture, expand research opportunities and build workforce capability. The role is responsible for leading research programs, mentoring clinicians and researchers, supporting grants and ethics processes, promoting innovation, and ensuring nursing and midwifery research continues to inform safe, effective and high-quality healthcare services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead the development and implementation of nursing and midwifery research strategies that enhance research capacity and impact.
Provide expert leadership, mentoring and research training to clinicians and researchers across RBWH.
Facilitate research project development, grant applications, governance processes and ethical approvals.
Build and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare stakeholders and research collaborators.
Promote the translation of research into practice through publications, presentations and implementation of evidence-based initiatives.
