Role We are seeking an experienced Unrestricted Solicitor to join our growing migration team.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest and/or background in Australian migration law and will be responsible for providing professional legal services and advice across a range of migration matters.
This is an opportunity for a solicitor who is looking to develop their career within a growing migration practice, work directly with clients and manage matters from initial consultation through to completion.
The role offers a competitive salary of $80,000 – $130,000 + superannuation, plus uncapped commissions, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
Key Responsibilities Provide professional legal advice and assistance in relation to Australian migration and visa matters.
Conduct client consultations and assess individual migration circumstances and available visa pathways.
Prepare, review and lodge migration and visa applications, submissions and supporting documentation.
Manage client files and matters from initial consultation through to completion.
Assist with complex migration matters, including visa refusals, cancellations, reviews and other migration-related legal matters.
Research and interpret relevant Australian migration legislation,



regulations, policies and procedures.
Prepare professional written submissions, legal correspondence and supporting documentation.
Communicate effectively with clients, government authorities, tribunals and other relevant stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records and ensure matters are managed in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
Work collaboratively with the migration and administration teams to ensure a high standard of client service.
Identify opportunities to assist clients with additional appropriate migration services and contribute to business development through uncapped commission opportunities.
Experience Previous experience working as a solicitor in Australia, preferably with experience in migration law and/or immigration-related legal matters.
Experience handling client consultations and independently managing legal matters.
Demonstrated ability to research legislation, interpret legal requirements and provide clear, practical advice.
Experience preparing legal submissions, applications, correspondence and supporting documentation.
Strong attention to detail and excellent file-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines and work effectively in a rapid-paced environment.
Commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships and business opportunities will be highly regarded.
Qualifications Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from an Australian or recognised institution.
Current Australian practising certificate with unrestricted practice rights.
Admission as an Australian lawyer.
Demonstrated knowledge of Australian migration legislation and regulatory requirements.
Membership of relevant professional organisations, such as a State or Territory Law Society, will be viewed favourably.
Additional qualifications or formal experience in Australian migration law will be highly regarded.
