Position: MECHANICAL ENGINEER Position Type: Full Time Salary: $80,000 p.a plus Super Employer Name: FLEXIMAKE PTY LTD A.B.N. ************** Job Location: 33 Tatterson Road, Dandenong South, VIC, ****, AUSTRALIA Advertising Period: 28 days - 30 Sep ******* Oct **** Summary Our client Fleximake Pty Ltd is seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its Dandenong South manufacturing team.
The company designs and manufactures standard and customised versatile products using industrial textiles and plastics for industries including mining, construction, agriculture, oil and gas, aquaculture and transport.
The role will support mechanical design, manufacturing, production coordination, equipment performance and practical engineering solutions.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Design and develop customised mechanical products using engineering calculations and 2D and 3D CAD tools.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation for CNC cutting and production processes.
• Develop flexible bladder solutions according to customer requirements, available dimensions, applications and fitting arrangements.
• Translate engineering specifications and customer requirements into practical, efficient and manufacturable product designs.
• Coordinate production labour, allocate manufacturing tasks and support efficient workflow across production activities.
• Undertake engineering calculations to verify dimensions, material requirements, capacities and product performance.
• Support CNC cutting, marking, welding and fabrication processes for industrial textile and plastic products.
• Inspect machinery and production equipment to maintain safe, reliable and efficient operating performance.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and undertake basic mechanical troubleshooting when production issues arise.
• Provide technical support for product modifications, manufacturing issues, installations,
repairs and field requirements.
• Conduct site visits for measurements, installation support, inspection, troubleshooting and product repair activities.
• Develop specifications for materials, components, fittings and manufacturing requirements for customised engineering solutions.
• Monitor production quality and ensure fabricated products conform to approved drawings and engineering specifications.
• Use engineering software and analysis tools to support mechanical design, calculations and technical problem-solving.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification relevant to the advertised Mechanical Engineer position.
• Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or in a closely comparable role.
• Demonstrated experience preparing mechanical designs, engineering calculations, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation for customised products.
• Practical experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or comparable mechanical design and drafting applications.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, material selection, production requirements and design principles affecting practical product manufacturability.
• Experience supporting production operations, including workflow coordination, quality requirements, equipment inspection and mechanical troubleshooting activities.
• Ability to translate customer specifications and engineering requirements into practical designs suitable for fabrication and production environments.
• Capability to provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, inspection, modification, maintenance and repair of engineered products.
