This well-regarded Australian retailer continues to grow in sales and profitability, with an expanding store footprint. With high levels of customer service, an attractive product range, prime location, modern store fit-outs, and an in-house culture that recognises, develops, and rewards staff, they strive for excellence in all they do.
You will lead the retail teams across Australia and New Zealand, overseeing all aspects of sales performance, customer experience, in-store execution, team management, and learning and development.
Key aspects of the role include:
Store Selection and Presentation - VM and Plannergram displays; identify potential store locations.
Customer Experience - Lead the customer experience to deliver a consistent, best-in-class experience.
Sales Performance - Monitor sales productivity, identifying areas for improvement and driving a robust customer-first sales culture.
Team Management - Lead National, State, Regional and Cluster management teams across ANZ. Also lead conferences and future-leaders development programs to identify talent and support succession planning.
Retail Operations - Lead back-of-house efficiency projects, wage and cost management, as well as drive learning and development initiatives across the store network, ensuring a strong balance of sales, customer experience and product training.
Contribute at SLT meetings - liaise regularly with warehouse, IT, store development, HR, finance and other support functions to ensure efficient operations and compliance.




The successful candidate will be a problem-solver who gets in amongst the details when needed and leads and develops while achieving commercial targets and outcomes. Driving store expansion and growth while maintaining consistent in-store execution across the existing fleet will require 110% effort and attention. You are a high performer who leads by example, has a positive can-do attitude, listens, challenges, and directs, and is a curious learner who still enjoys being hands-on amongst the troops when needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, a real passion and excitement for the retail industry, and an understanding of the levers, numbers, and KPIs that make it work are also needed. Currently, you are in a similar national, GM or director-level role responsible for at least 50 stores and preferably have experience in an environment of rapid growth.
While Melbourne-based, the pace of expansion requires regular interstate travel. An appropriate salary package, an opportunity for greater responsibility over time, and experience working with true retail leaders will help attract the right candidates.
