OHS Officer
who will play a critical role in embedding a culture of safety, wellbeing, and compliance across all our sites.
Position Summary:
The OHS Officer at Anmar Group will support the Health and Safety function by actively implementing and maintaining occupational health and safety systems across all operational sites. This role involves hands‐on support in executing the organisation's OHS plans, policies, procedures, and risk management strategies in alignment with legislative requirements and company objectives.
Key responsibilities include assisting in the development and maintenance of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other critical safety documentation. The OHS Officer will also coordinate and deliver training sessions to frontline managers and employees, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and obligations under relevant safety laws and internal procedures.
In this role, the OHS Officer will advise the HR Manager on safety matters, including compliance risks, mitigation strategies, and the consequences of non‐compliance. They will also lead incident investigations, return‐to‐work process, and the group's occupational hygiene and hazard identification efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of: OHS legislation and best practices, occupational hygiene, Return to Work training, understanding of ISO [EC1]a proactive and solutions‐oriented mindset, and the ability to manage confidential information professionally. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding & Contractor Management:
Organise inductions for new employees and contractors (installers) to ensure smooth integration and safety compliance.
Periodically update employee and contractor details in the company systems to ensure compliance.
Maintain and archive essential onboarding documents in compliance with company policies and relevant legal requirements.
Oversee and assist the stages of health surveillance plan
Employee Offboarding & Record Management:
Comply with Health surveillance plan.
Produce and provide relevant termination information to employees exposed to respirable crystalline silica.
Collect and archive employee exit documentation in accordance with legal and company requirements.
Document Control & Compliance:
Organise and archive essential HR‐related documents, including pre‐employment, periodic, and exit medical records.
Monitor policy and document update schedules, reminding and assisting the HR Manager in timely revisions.
Infrastructure & Contractor Coordination:




Assist in scheduling test and tag inspections and other compliance‐related services for equipment and infrastructure.
Support workplace maintenance processes by coordinating with contractors and service providers.
Cross‐Departmental Support & Compliance Oversight:
Work closely with other departments to ensure OHS operations align with overall business needs.
Maintain OHS compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and company procedures.
Provide general support to administrative teams as needed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Induction & Compliance: Ensure 100% of new employees and contractors are inducted and compliant with OHS requirements.
Audit & Inspection: Complete all scheduled site safety audits and inspections on time.
Incident Management: Ensure all incidents are reported within 24 hours and closed with corrective actions within 7 days.
Health Surveillance: Maintain full compliance with health monitoring for high‐risk roles, including silica‐exposed staff.
Training & Awareness: Deliver and track required safety training with ≥95% participation across teams.
Documentation & RTW Compliance: Ensure all safety documentation and return‐to‐work processes are completed and filed in accordance with legal standards.
Success in This Role Will Be Evident By:
Zero serious breaches
of WHS compliance across all sites.
All high‐risk roles
(e.g., stone fabrication and installation) completing required health surveillance and training.
Timely resolution
of all incidents and investigations with continuous improvements documented.
Strong collaboration
with site teams, ensuring visibility and trust in the safety culture.
Ongoing reduction
in workplace incidents, injuries, and WorkCover claims.
Up‐to‐date and audit‐ready documentation

Ideal Qualifications:
OHS training
– Advanced Diploma or higher
Training in Occupational Hygiene
– highly desirable
RTW training and experience
– RTW WorkSafe Training is mandatory
Sound understanding of OHS legislation
Experience with stone works
– highly desirable
ISO experience
– highly desirable
Incident Investigation Training
– Mandatory (ICAM or other relevant methodology).
