As our business continues to expand, our Production function is also evolving. With additional products, processes and production activities coming into the business, we are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to take ownership of the day to day operation and help develop the next stage of our Production capability.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and improving the way things are done, while remaining closely involved with the production floor.

About the Role

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the Production Supervisor will take day to day ownership of Sheffield's Production function, including priorities, workflow, output, quality, reporting and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for ensuring customer and inventory requirements are met safely, efficiently, accurately and to the required quality standard.

This is a hands on leadership role, but we are looking for more than someone who can simply keep jobs moving. You will be expected to independently plan workloads, make appropriate operational and technical decisions, manage changing priorities and develop the capability of the Production team.

As Sheffield continues to grow, you will also play an important role in integrating additional production activities, products and processes into the operation.

What You'll Do

Lead the Production Team
Provide clear direction, expectations, coaching and support to the Production team.

Plan and Prioritise Production
Plan daily and weekly workloads around demand, backlog, available labour, materials and production capacity. Allocate work effectively and adjust priorities when circumstances change.

Own Production Delivery
Monitor work in progress, identify potential delays and take practical action to keep production requirements on track.

Take Operational and Technical Ownership
Make appropriate day to day decisions,



troubleshoot production issues, investigate recurring problems and ensure approved processes and work instructions are followed.

Drive Quality
Maintain strong quality standards, investigate errors and rework, and address recurring issues to improve consistency and performance.

Coordinate Materials and Equipment
Work closely with Supply Chain, Inventory and other internal teams to ensure components, packaging and materials are available when required. Monitor equipment requirements and raise significant repair, replacement or investment needs where necessary.

Develop People and Capability
Coach and train employees, maintain appropriate skills coverage across Production activities and build a capable, accountable and flexible team.

Improve the Way We Work
Analyse delays, workflow constraints, interruptions and quality issues, then identify and implement practical improvements.

Monitor and Report Performance
Maintain accurate Production records and reporting, helping the business understand output, productivity, quality and areas requiring attention.

Lead Safe Work Practices
Ensure Production activities are completed safely and in accordance with Sheffield's WHS requirements and established procedures.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with strong production experience who is comfortable taking ownership and making sound day to day decisions.

You will ideally bring:

- Strong experience in a production, manufacturing, assembly or similar operational environment

- Previous experience supervising or independently coordinating a production operation and leading people

- Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills

- Good technical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability





- Confidence making appropriate operational decisions

- Strong problem solving skills and a practical approach to resolving issues

- Experience coaching, developing and holding people accountable

- A strong understanding of quality and process discipline

- Good computer literacy, with ERP or WMS experience highly regarded

- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different departments

- Production planning or continuous improvement experience will be highly regarded

The Person We're Looking For

The right person for this role will be practical, decisive and accountable.

You'll know when an issue genuinely needs to be escalated, but you'll also be comfortable taking ownership of the normal day to day decisions that come with running a Production operation.

You'll set clear standards for your team while remaining approachable and willing to coach, support and develop people.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows issues through and can keep Production moving without unnecessarily passing routine decisions upward.
