About the role

Mader Group is seeking an experienced Locomotive High Voltage Electrician to join our team in WA. This is a site based position, offering a strategic opportunity to maintain and support critical rail infrastructure within the mining and resources sector. As a Locomotive High Voltage Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our locomotive fleet, directly contributing to the continuity of our mining operations and the safety of our workforce.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair high voltage electrical systems on locomotives, including batteries, generators, and distribution systems

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of locomotive electrical components to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements

- Test and verify high voltage systems using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools

- Replace faulty electrical components, including motors, contactors, relays, and control circuits

- Document all maintenance and repair work accurately, maintaining comprehensive records for compliance and traceability

- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and minimise downtime

- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental protocols, including high voltage safety procedures

- Support the implementation of preventative maintenance programmes to reduce unexpected failures





- Respond promptly to emergency electrical faults to restore locomotive operations

What we're looking for

- Current high voltage electrical licence recognised in Australia

- Drive in drive out and Fly in Fly Out opportunities

- Proven experience working with locomotive or rail-based high voltage electrical systems

- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation

- Experience in a mining, resources, or industrial maintenance environment (preferred)

- Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace safety culture

- Valid driver's licence (preferred)
