What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead a field-based Parks Maintenance team delivering scheduled and reactive horticultural maintenance across parks, reserves, gardens and open spaces throughout the Fraser Coast region. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, maintaining service standards, supporting a positive team culture and ensuring secure, efficient and customer-focused delivery of works.

What your day will look like:

- Lead and coordinate scheduled and reactive parks maintenance activities
- Allocate work, coach staff and support team performance and development
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, risk controls and safe work practices
- Provide technical guidance on horticultural maintenance, machinery and site issues
- Coordinate plant, equipment, materials and contractors to maximise efficiency
- Manage customer requests and maintain accurate records through Council systems

What you’ll need for success:

- Current Queensland MR Driver Licence
- Current AC/DC Chemical Distribution Licence
- Current General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Demonstrated experience leading a field-based operational team
- Proven experience delivering horticultural maintenance programs to required standards and timeframes
- Strong knowledge of WHS requirements, risk management and safe work practices




- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Ability to use mobile devices and works management systems to record work activities, timesheets and customer requests

What’s nice to have:

- Certificate III in Horticulture or a related open space discipline
- First Aid Certificate
- Playground Inspection Certification
