About Us

Fundraising Institute Australasia (FIA) is the peak body for fundraising across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. FIA supports and represents fundraising professionals and organisations through education, advocacy, professional standards, member engagement and sector leadership.

About the role

Build your events career while helping deliver experiences that connect Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand’s fundraising community.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career events professional who has built a solid foundation in event coordination and is ready to take the next step.

You’ll join a collaborative Conference and Events team and gain hands-on experience across a varied program of events, supporting everything from member events through to FIA’s Conference and Awards.

If you’re organised, energetic, great with people and love the satisfaction of seeing all the moving parts of an event come together, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

You'll work closely with the Conference and Events team to:

- Coordinate event registrations, venues, catering, suppliers and event logistics.

- Manage attendee communications and respond to event enquiries.

- Maintain accurate event information across websites, registration platforms and internal systems.

- Liaise with venues, suppliers and stakeholders to keep event arrangements on track.

- Track registrations, invoices and payments and support event reporting and reconciliation.

- Coordinate post-event surveys and feedback.

- Support speaker and entrant administration and communications.

- Assist with the planning and delivery of FIA’s Conference and Awards.

- Prepare event materials and provide hands-on support at events.

- Work collaboratively across FIA to support successful event delivery.

About you

Have at least 2 years' relevant experience in events, event administration, and be looking to build your skills and experience. You'll be someone who:

- Loves being organised and keeping track of multiple deadlines and details.

- Has experience supporting the delivery of multiple events.

- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.

- Is confident using digital systems and learning new platforms.

- Communicates professionally and enjoys working with attendees, speakers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

- Can adapt when priorities change and knows when to solve a problem yourself or ask for guidance.

- Enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team while also taking responsibility for your assigned tasks.

- Brings initiative, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in building a career in events.

- Experience with Salesforce, Swoogo or similar platforms, or experience within a membership, not-for-profit or purpose-led organisation, would be an advantage but isn’t essential.

- Full Australian working rights with no restrictions are required.

What does success look like in this role?

You’ll know you’re succeeding when the events and activities assigned to you are organised and on track, deadlines are being met and attendees receive clear and timely information.

You’ll keep event information and records accurate, provide responsive and professional support, raise issues when needed and contribute to a team that delivers high-quality event experiences.

Benefits

- Competitive salary and benefits, including flexible working with WFH Monday and Friday.

- Up-to-date St Leonards office with exceptional public transport access, located directly opposite the train station and surrounded by cafés, restaurants and everyday amenities.

- Be part of a friendly, collaborative and purpose-led team dedicated to making a positive impact across the fundraising sector.

- Personal development and training opportunities to continue building your skills and credentials.

If you’ve started building your events career and are ready for your next opportunity to learn, grow and gain hands-on experience across a diverse events program, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply by sending your cover letter and resumé, referencing the Events Coordinator role, to Martine L'Eveille at ••••@fia.org.au.

FIA is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We warmly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities and lived experiences.
