Golden Strike is a well established Geological Service provider specialising in full departmental assistance. Where we operate we preference to provide the entire team from the Graduate Geologist to the Geology Manager.
The company has a strong client base providing full geological services for multiple ASX listed companies, with an employee base now exceeding 20 employees. Our clients range from early exploration projects all the way to production
About the Role
The role would primarily be based on our clients sites, offering the candidate a wide variety of operation and geological settings for career development. The primary role would be providing on ground geological services working alongside Exploration and Resource Definition operations with primary exposure to RC and Diamond Drilling.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Work unsupervised or semi-supervised along side exploration drilling operations
- Willing and able to conduct all aspects of rig supervision and management, from sieving chips and sample collection to logging and rig/campaign management
- Maintain strong levels of communication both within the business and with contract providers/customers to produce work efficiently
- Update all data into the company datapoints, and possess a strong Microsoft office proficiency
About You
The role would ideally suit a geologists who wishes to gain a variety of experiences and skills to develop their career. The employment style provides the opportunity for greater variety of geological setting,
work types and overall career development experiences then typical single site based roles. In addition the contract style Golden Strike conducts allows for extensive development of employees beyond typical contract roles.
Ideal candidates would posses:
- Experience on AC and/or RC operations
- 1+yr experience in the Eastern Goldfields
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work unsupervised
To be considered for the role Candidates will require:
- A Bachelor's degree level tertiary geology qualification is required
- A WA C class licence or greater (Likewise jurisdictions considered)
- The right to work in Australia
Benefits and Compensation
The role is initially being offered as a contract, being paid above award wages on a day rate. Options to transfer to Part time or Full time employment are possible within the business. The format of the business allows a candidate to benefit from the increased earning potential being a contract employee, whilst mitigating the typical employment risks of such a role.
Current contracts exceed our workforce capacity and have long term scope for continuation. As such Golden Strike can offer a large quantity of ongoing work for the suitable candidate. The role would be best suited to someone willing to work 2/1 roster creating the opportunity to earn well above industry standard wages for a similar role.
The role is being offered as a point of hire from Perth or Kalgoorlie, with other options considered for the correct candidate.
