About us
North West Queensland Indigenous Community Social Services Ltd (NWQICSS) is a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled, not-for-profit organisation based in Mount Isa. Guided by a First Nations-majority board and the vision "Life to the full," we deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed services across justice, health, housing, education and family support. As a Public Benevolent Institution, we work every day to create real opportunities for our people and community.
About the Program
The Youth Transitional Hub provides culturally responsive support to at-risk young people through case management, diversion activities, outreach support, and safe overnight accommodation.
The program supports young people by providing a safe and supportive environment where they can build positive connections, develop life skills, access appropriate services, and receive guidance to improve their wellbeing and future opportunities. Through strong partnerships with families, community organisations, schools, health services, and justice agencies, the program aims to reduce engagement with anti-social behaviours and support young people to make positive choices.
