Job Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Corporate Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team on a part time, maximum-term contract providing parental leave cover. This is a varied and hands-on role, working approximately 0.6 FTE from our Perth office, with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Reporting to the Financial Controller - Corporate,you will play an significant role in supporting Peet's corporate treasury management, capital management reporting, external financial reporting and compliance obligations. The role offers broad exposure across treasury and financial reporting activities within a complex, multi-entity environment, making it well suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys variety, ownership and meaningful work.
The maximum-term contract is expected to commence in November for approximately 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely treasury, debt and capital management reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage short-term cash flow forecasting, loan rollover processes, debt allocations and related balance sheet reviews.
- Contribute to Board, Audit and Risk Management Committee, half-year and annual external reporting,
including supporting the external audit process.
- Prepare AFSL compliance reporting and the financial statements for Peet Funds Management Pty Ltd.
- Assist with loan facility amendments, bond facility renewals and other banking requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, controls and supporting documentation.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a relevant accounting or business degree and be CA, CPA or equivalently qualified. You will ideally bring approximately 5 years of postgraduate experience in financial or corporate accounting, preferably gained within a complex, multi-entity environment.
- Experience preparing financial statements, associated disclosures and supporting external audit processes.
- Exposure to treasury activities such as cash flow forecasting, debt financing, bank covenant reporting or group-level treasury reporting.
- Sound technical accounting knowledge, including an understanding of consolidation and complex entity structures.
- A high level of attention to detail, withstrong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage changing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with at least intermediate Microsoft Excel capability.
