Marketing & Communications Officer (12 month Contract)
Location: Tamworth, NSW
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Create engaging marketing and communications campaigns that showcase the Tamworth region
- Develop content across digital, social media, web and traditional communication channels
- Help keep our community informed, connected and engaged through meaningful communications

We are seeking a creative and proactive communications professional who can turn complex information into clear, engaging content for a diverse community audience. As a collaborative team player, you will build positive relationships across the organisation, understand the importance of customer-focused communication and thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Your exceptional writing skills, creative mindset and ability to manage multiple projects will enable you to deliver communications that inform, engage and inspire our community. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of strategic thinking, creativity and hands-on delivery, while helping to showcase the positive impact Council has on the communities we serve. The Marketing & Communications Officer is responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining internal and external communication strategies for Council;
- Organising and managing public relations events and supporting media opportunities;
- Monitoring local media and assisting Council to respond effectively to media commentary;
- Creating advertising, campaign materials, website content, digital marketing campaigns and social media communications;
- Working with stakeholders and graphic design staff to deliver high-quality, on-brand communications and marketing initiatives.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Degree in Communications, Marketing or a similar relevant qualification, or significant practical experience in a related field
- Demonstrated experience, typically 3-5 years, in marketing, communications or public relations
- Current Driver Licence
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance
- Strong digital marketing, stakeholder engagement and content creation skills

Salary range: Grade 14 - $87,644.35 - $94,839.77 per annum plus 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
