The Opportunity
Reporting to the Statewide Volunteering Manager, you will support the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of Parks Victoria's statewide volunteering programs. You will work collaboratively with regional staff, community partners and volunteers to deliver safe, inclusive and high-quality programs that connect people with nature and contribute to the conservation of Victoria's parks and reserves.
You will coordinate volunteering projects and activities under established statewide frameworks, support consistent practices across regional and program teams, and assist with the planning, delivery and monitoring of volunteering activities.
The role will also contribute to data collection, program evaluation, reporting and stakeholder engagement. You will help develop tools, templates, systems and communications that promote participation and strengthen the delivery of volunteering programs across the organisation.
Working closely with Traditional Owners, community organisations,
volunteers and internal stakeholders, you will support engagement activities and events that promote inclusion, collaboration and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate volunteering projects and activities under established statewide frameworks and standards.
- Support regional and program teams to implement consistent practices and reporting processes.
- Assist with planning, delivering and monitoring safe and inclusive volunteering activities.
- Collect and analyse data to track program outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Develop tools, templates and communications that promote volunteer engagement and participation.
- Build positive relationships with Traditional Owners, volunteers, community organisations and other stakeholders.
- Support engagement activities and events that encourage collaboration and community participation.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and program delivery.
- Assist with assigned budgets, procurement and contract administration processes.
- Promote a culture of safety, respect and collaboration across volunteering programs.
About You
You are an organised and community-focused qualified with experience supporting volunteering, community engagement or environmental programs.
You are confident coordinating projects and activities, managing competing priorities and developing constructive relationships with volunteers, colleagues and community partners.
You communicate clearly, use sound judgement and take a practical approach to resolving operational challenges.You are committed to respectful and inclusive engagement with Traditional Owners and community members. You also understand the importance of safety, governance, accurate reporting and continuous improvement when delivering community programs.
You'll bring
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or supporting volunteering, community engagement or environmental programs.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in environmental management, community development or a related field.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- An understanding of volunteer management, stakeholder engagement and program coordination.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- The ability to build cooperative relationships with volunteers, colleagues and community partners.
- Effective time management, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to collect and analyse data for program reporting and decision-making.
- Awareness of workplace safety, risk management, governance and compliance requirements.
- A commitment to ethical, transparent and inclusive work practices.
