Bundaberg | 22.8 Hours Per Week | Fixed-Term to 30 June 2027

SCHADS Level 4 | $92,286 - $99,295 per annum (pro rata) + Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefits

We are seeking a passionate and culturally grounded AOD Case Manager / Aboriginal Liaison Officer (Identified) to join our newly funded Tokoko Integrated Recovery Pathways Program in the Wide Bay region.

This important role will provide culturally safe case management, advocacy and support to people engaging with the Tokoko Integrated Recovery Pathways Program. As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified role, you will play a key role in supporting culturally safe service delivery while helping strengthen engagement, access to services, cultural connection and recovery outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.

We welcome applications from people who have worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services, case management, community engagement, family support, youth services, health, mental health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), or Aboriginal Liaison roles.

About the Role

As the AOD Case Manager / Aboriginal Liaison Officer, you will provide culturally protected support, advocacy, service navigation and case management to people accessing the Tokoko Integrated Recovery Pathways Program.

You will play an important role in supporting culturally safe engagement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients while working collaboratively with all clients, families, communities and stakeholders involved in the program.

Working alongside clients, families, Elders, community organisations and service providers, you will help strengthen pathways into treatment and recovery while reducing barriers that can prevent people from accessing the supports they need.

This role focuses on building relationships, strengthening engagement, supporting continuity of care and helping individuals maintain connections to family, culture and community throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide culturally safe engagement, support, advocacy and case management.
- Support individuals through treatment,



recovery and wellbeing pathways, with a particular focus on culturally safe support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Assist clients to identify goals and access appropriate services and supports.
- Strengthen connections to family, culture, community and support networks.
- Support referrals and service navigation across health, housing, wellbeing and community services.
- Build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, Elders and community stakeholders.
- Advocate for clients and families accessing the program, while supporting culturally safe and responsive service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
- Contribute to community engagement and stakeholder collaboration activities.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and reporting requirements.

This role is based in Bundaberg and will involve travel across Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and surrounding communities.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people, families and communities experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges and who can bring a strong understanding of culturally safe practice and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community engagement.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities.
- Experience in case management, support coordination, family support, advocacy, community engagement, Aboriginal Liaison or similar roles.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with clients, families, Elders and community stakeholders.
- Strong communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
- Knowledge of local communities and support services,



or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.

Highly Regarded

The following experience will be highly valued:

- Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services.
- Experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), Mental Health, Youth Work or Community Services.
- Experience supporting individuals and families through recovery and wellbeing journeys.
- Existing community connections within the Wide Bay region.
- Experience engaging with families, Elders and community stakeholders.
- Qualifications in Community Services, Human Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Youth Work or a related field.
